NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center operates this geodetic station at McDonald Observatory in Fort Davis, Texas. Geodesy is the science of precisely measuring properties of the Earth such as its shape (within millimeters).

The observatory invited CreatiVets to meet at their facility for our photography workshop and to tour their huge telescopes. Too much awesome to deal with, honestly, but I did my best.
