This picture was taken today, a billion kilometers from Earth. It shows Saturn’s rings, and includes something extra: an appearance of the phenomenon known as “spokes.”

Cassini’s camera tracks Saturn’s moon Mimas in the foreground, while Prometheus orbits in the background within the rings. These images were sent to Earth on Monday.
