No probe has yet descended into Saturn’s stormy atmosphere, but Cassini can do the next best thing. By looking through filters that favor different wavelength of light, its cameras can look deep into the clouds. These shots were all taken on the same day, and show the same storms in a different light. The color here is arbitrary.

The colour may be arbitrary, but it would be good to know what the depths are for each colour. The “image source” link didn’t seem immediately helpful about that. Where could I find out?

Jay - Saturn is amazing the way it looks awesome no matter how you size it up.

I have to preface this comment by stating I have a hard-science background. Psalm 19:1 says “The heavens declare the glory of God.” Just like all our siblings are different, even twins are unique, none of our planetary neighbors are alike. Exosphere, crushing atmosphere, breathable atmosphere, thin remnant of one now lost (Mars), the sheer majestic beauty of Jupiter and its moons, Saturn - different, yet beautiful. All the planets unique, beautiful, exotic in their own way. Out there to study scientifically, but also for us (thanks to Bill) to enjoy esthetically.
IMHO - points to artistry. For beauty’s sake alone, because He felt like it. So we could enjoy it.
Recommendation - DVD called Indescribable by Louie Giglio. Amazing.
