Opportunity sent us these lovely views of Endeavour Crater on Mars last week. For the next few months, the rover will hunker down for the Martian winter at a spot called Greeley Haven. Opportunity is parked at an angle that allows for her solar panels to pull in as much sunlight as possible during the relatively dark days ahead. She’ll be stationary, but not inactive, performing several investigations that wouldn’t be possible otherwise. Learn more.

Update – Check out this truly stunning color version assembled by the highly-skilled amateur Damien Bouic. Make sure you click the picture to see it at full size. Find out how he made it.
